Netflix has just dropped the first look and release date of its buzzy Original movie, Extraction, starring Chris Hemsworth as lead. The action thriller will release on 24th April on the streaming service.
Hemsworth plays a mercenary-for-hire in Extraction, who risks life and limb to rescue a Bangladeshi crimelord-cum-businessman’s kidnapped son from merciless weapon and drug traffickers. The movie is set in the backdrop of Dhaka, but has been shot extensively in India and Thailand.
The Netflix Original movie has rustled up a lot of anticipation courtesy its stellar cast and crew. The movie is produced by the Russo Brothers, Joe and Anthony Russo, directors of the Avengers Franchise. It is directed by Avengers Endgame stunt coordinator Sam Hargrave. These credentials by themselves are enough to evoke viewers’ interest in the film.
The cast of the movie is icing on the cake. A host of consummate performers from India are part of the prestigious project, besides David Harbour, the actor who plays Hopper in Stranger Things. Golshifteh Farahani, Manoj Bajpayee, Randeep Hooda, Pankaj Tripathi, Priyanshu Painyuli, Prashant Narayanan, Suhail Nayyar, Jay Ali, Mir Sarwar, Geetanjali Thapa, are the prominent Indian actors in the movie, alongside Derek Luke and Fay Masterson. New find Rudhraksh Jaiswal plays the important role of the rich Bangladeshi business man’s son who is kidnapped as a bargaining chip between notorious criminals and the kid’s father.
