The on-going lockdown has increased the average time spent by an individual online vastly. It also means there is a higher risk of adult content being watched by kids at home. To avoid such happenings, Netflix has upgraded its ‘Parental Security’ feature.
Previously, there used to be separate kids section on the platform. The parents could simply move to that tab (within the profile) and continue watching content with family. However, it did not restrict the person or youngster from viewing what else is available.
Now, Netflix has enabled PIN protection to profiles. One can also curate the content present in a profile. They can delete specific shows, if necessary. The parents can also observe what the kids are watching from a particular profile created for them.
All of it is an assurance of Netflix. That, it is doing enough and heeding to the requests of the consumers. It is to avoid kids getting exposed to adult content that is available in abundance.
