Netflix dropped the teaser for the upcoming drama-thriller mini-series ‘Clickbait’ on its official YouTube channel, a few hours ago. This one-minute teaser showed us a cryptic, yet thrilling montage of clips – in the end, leaving us with some tough questions to ponder on. The teaser gives us the bare minimum to understand the plot of the film and has us craving for more. Check out the teaser at the end of this article.
‘Entourage’ star Adrian Grenier portrays Nick Brewer, who is shown as the central character in this teaser. The promo walks us through his various relationships quickly – he is a father, a husband, a brother and a friend. But his life turns upside down when he is forcefully kidnapped and made to sit in a chair, in front of a camera holding up a card that reads “I ABUSE WOMEN”. As more and more people check out this morbidly fascinating video, he shows another card that reads “AT 5 MILLION VIEWS I DIE”. As the number of views continue to rise, his close friends and family search for him in this race against time thriller while facing opposition on multiple fronts.
This is a pretty cool idea for a mini-series – “How well do you really know a loved one?” with a twist. And this teaser will definitely leave us all guessing about Nick Brewer. Is he a victim? Or is he getting what he deserves? And what if this person is someone you love? Will you be able to stand by and watch/ let this happen? Definitely asking some tough questions there. Hopefully, the web series will be able to do the concept justice.
The thriller mini-series, ‘Clickbait’, will premiere on Netflix on August 25th 2021.
