‘Space force‘ is an American comedy web series that released its season one in May 2020, on Netflix. This show stars Steve Carell (he is also the co creator with Greg Daniels) and marks his second workplace comedy, first being the US version of ‘The Office’ (created by Greg Daniels). This web project is inspired by the real-world military branch created by U.S. President Donald Trump.
The story is about a group of people, lead by Steve, tasked with establishing a newly announced sixth branch of the armed forces – the US Space Force. John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Jimmy O. Yang, Diana Silvers, and Lisa Kudrow co-star among others. The first season, with ten episodes received extreme reviews – too good or too bad. The disappointed viewers criticize this show mainly because they expected it to be somewhere close to the iconic and loved show, ‘The Office.’ However, other set of viewers wrote in defence of ‘Space Force.’ They feel the show is fantastic, acting is top-notch and it is unfair to compare it with an old iconic show.
Now, Netflix seems to stand strong even after the negative reception. It has reportedly renewed the show for another season. No confirmation has been received from the streaming platform but the show is in talks! Usually, new seasons release at least a year after its first season is aired.
