Netflix released “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” in 2018 and since then the movie with two more sequels became Netflix’s one of the most loved franchises. The movies in the trilogy had a brand new feeling and were a rom-com that was perfect for today’s generation. Not only was it loved but the movies turned out to be superhit for the streaming service as it struck a chord among the viewers and created a huge fan base.
With the last movie releasing in February, the trilogy came to a successful end, but that’s not exactly the end Netflix has planned for the fans. Apparently, a brand new spinoff series is being developed based on a particular character from the movies. Kitty Song Covey, Lara Jean’s younger sister and the youngest amongst the Covey sisters will be the focus of the series and Anna Cathcart, who had a breakout role in the movies playing Kitty, is set to reprise the role.
All the characters in the movie were exceptionally good and all of them received love from everyone but Kitty was amongst the few characters in the movie that has been extremely loved, to the point that she has been named as the backbone of the story. The brand new series is set to focus on Kitty’s journey as she enters the time in her teenage life, where she experiences love and relationships.
Jenny Han, the author of the bestselling books that created the movie trilogy is behind the creation of the series too. Siobhan Vivian and Han are collectively writing the pilot for the series. Awesomeness and ACE, which was behind the movie trilogy is also backing up the series for Netflix.
This will not be the first movie to have its own series spin-off in Netflix and this for sure won’t be the last. Netflix has huge plans of turning the Netflix original movies into universes of its own, with stand-alone movies and also series dedicated to a particular timeline or a particular character from the movie.
