One of Netflix’s biggest selling point, releasing all episodes at once is giving it a significant advantage in the lockdown period. This process enables the viewers to binge-watch all its episodes at once. It is a major revolutionizing aspect of the streamer.
However, not many are aware of how Netflix can make it happen. To enable the smooth release of all the episodes at a time, Netflix okays the script, the actors and team, well in advance. It then goes ahead with the shoot too in a similar fashion without delays.
The result is that Netflix has its first copy in place months ahead of the proposed date. It takes the time for further polishing it and then arrives on the date announced. The strictly followed process today has resulted in a lot of series and movies, which are in the post-production phase currently.
In short, Netflix has shot most, if not all, content of 2020. All it needs is to finish the post-production work and release. It is therefore not going to be short of new films and series throughout the year and until sometime in 2021.
Quite contrasting to this is the weekly format of series. The shooting happens with a gap. As the shoots have come to a halt now. The fresh content is coming to an end one by one for various platforms. It is already the case with television which is currently depending on re-runs.
