Jr.NTR Declared The Possibility Of A Sequel And A Franchise Of “RRR”

After the massive success of S.S Rajamouli‘s “RRR“, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Jr., popularly referred to as NTR Jr., referred that there might be a possibility that the film will get a sequel.

Set in 1920, it’s an undocumented fictional story about two Indian freedom fighters, Alluri Sitarama Raju (played by Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (NTR Jr). Rajamouli made the two characters cross each other’s path after discovering the similarities and coincidences in their life. Both meet and discover their common enemy, the occupying British Raj.

The film hit the screens on 25 March, with a massive opening box office collection that just spiked with time. Over the weekend it has crossed 800+ crores, emerging as the leading film globally.

In a conversation with Variety, NTR said, “I was very clear about what the result is going to be. But, being being the number one film in the world, I don’t think we expected all this. But these are all added bonuses, and I’m elated to be a part of this franchise.”

Recently S.S. Rajamouli’s father KV Vijayendra Prasad, an established writer has revealed that they might explore the possibility of a probable “RRR” franchise. NTR stated, “I’ve used the word franchise thinking, hoping that there would be another world of ‘RRR’ again. Sometimes you just hope and you say a few words hoping it would happen, it will happen. It’s just a way of positive thinking, wanting for more.

“RRR” visualised the amalgamation of two-hero film which isn’t quite seen nowadays on Indian cinema.

“Today, hopefully, watching ‘RRR,’ filmmakers are going to come up with concepts where two stars can be a part of a film. Rather than competing on the level of fans, you can complement each other, that’s exactly what Rajamouli has showcased in ‘RRR’”, NTR stated to Variety.
