Ever since seminal director Farhan Akhtar announced that he’s returning to the director’s chair with his next ‘Jee Le Zaraa‘, film buffs have been waiting eagerly for some update on the exciting movie. The film is to be another fun road trip film, Farhan Akhtar’s third road trip film after Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Interestingly, ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ will be an all-female film, with a lineup that is the stuff of every filmmaker’s wildest dreams – the spectacularly talented trio of Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif.
However, it’s been almost two years since the announcement of that news, and there’s been no word on ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ kicking off production. Instead, there have been numerous speculations floating around on the internet — some from well-known trade trackers – saying that ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ is all but shelved.
The negative speculations have obviously disappointed Farhan Akhtar fans, as also fans of the three leading ladies of ‘Jee Le Zaraa’. Amidst raging rumours of whether the film is on or off, Farhan Akhtar posted an enchanting update on his Instagram this morning, which lays every speculation to rest; and which is sure to warm the cockles of every film-lover’s heart.
This morning, Farhan Akhtar posted a mesmerising picture of the vast, sandy, gold-hued deserts of Rajasthan, and he added a caption to the post that read, “Searching for gold”. He also added the hashtags, #locationscout #jeelezaraa and #Rajasthan to his post. What’s more, Farhan Akhtar tagged a whole bunch of people on his Instagram post, including Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Ritesh Sidhwani, Reema Kagti, Zoya Akhtar, Tiger Baby Films and Excel Entertainment.
Farhan Akhtar‘s Instagram update leaves no doubt in anyone’s mind that ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ is definitely on! And with the original cast and crew too. For context, there were also rumours that Kiara Advani has been tapped to take the place of one of the three original leading ladies in ‘Jee Le Zaraa’
Fans can heave a sigh of relief, now that the man himself, Farhan Akhtar, has cleared the air on the status of ‘Jee Le Zaraa’.
