Oscars 2023 Best Picture Nominees & Where to Stream on Indian OTT

By Binged Bureau - Jan 25, 2023 @ 10:01 am

The nominees for the 2023 edition of the Oscars were announced last night. Although India’s ‘RRR’ didn’t make it w.r.t the ‘Best Picture’, ‘Best Actor’, and ‘Best Director’ categories, the ‘Naatu Naatu’ song was amongst the five ‘Original Song’ nominees. ‘Chhello Show’ too didn’t make the cut as well, but Shaunak Sen’s riveting documentary ‘All That Breathes’ made India proud. The Oscar winners will be announced on 12th March.

As far as the ‘Best Picture’ nominees are concerned, a total of ten films have been nominated for the 95th Oscars. And here’s where you can stream these movies on various Indian OTT platforms.

All Quiet on the Western Front (Streaming on Netflix)

Set during the final years of World War-I, the anti-war movie follows a young German soldier (played by Felix Kammerer), who enrols himself in the German army along with his friends. But his initial enthusiasm eventually declines after the soldier begins to understand the brutal life in the trenches and that too with barely any equipment support and lack of good training.

Avatar: The Way of Water (Not Streaming in India)

The film follows a disabled former Marine Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), who was sent as an Avatar to an incredible moon called Pandora, inhabiting the evolved Na’vi race. After reaching there, Jake fell in love with a Na’vi woman Neytiri (Zoe Saldana). They are now living together with their kids in Pandora and their efforts to keep their family safe from a new human threat.

The Banshees of Inisherin (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)

Set on a remote island in Ireland, the dark comedy drama movie revolves around the relationship between two longtime friends Padraic (Colin Farrell) and Colm (Brendan Gleeson). Elvis (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)

Directed by Baz Luhrmann, the movie revolves around the life of the ‘King of Rock and Roll’ Elvis Presley (played by Austin Butler). It’s narrated from the perspective of Elvis Presley’s complicated relationship with his manager Colonel Tom Parker (played by Tom Hanks) over a period of two decades. It showcases Elvis Presley’s journey from his early years to becoming an internationally renowned pop star.

Everything Everywhere All at Once (Streaming on BMS Stream – Rent/PPV)

The multiverse action-adventure movie revolves around a worn-out Chinese American immigrant (Michelle Yeoh), who must somehow connect with multiple versions of herself from a different universe to stop a powerful person from wreaking havoc across the multiverse.

The Fabelmans (Not Streaming in India)

Helmed by Steven Spielberg, the film is a semi-autobiographical account of the Oscar winning veteran filmmaker. The film showcases an aspiring filmmaker’s growing up days in Arizona and how the magic of films helps him deal with familial relationships and its truth.
