Oh, we are just inches away from the Oscars 2025! The 97th Academy Awards are all set to premiere on March 2 on Hulu and ABC in the United States. What about its premiere in India? Well, as per Indian Standard Time, the show will air there on March 3 at 5:30 AM, Monday. Indian viewers will be able to stream it on JioHotstar.
As for television viewers in India, they can enjoy the Oscars on Star Movies and Star Movies Select at the same time and date. Taking place on Sunday night at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre, the event will be broadcast live to viewers in India early Monday morning.
Hosting the event for the first time is one of the modern all-time greats, Conan O’Brien. And once again, we return to Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, California, for the grand spectacle that celebrates the best of cinema.
Leading the nominations at the Oscars 2025 is the controversial Emilia Perez, with 13 nominations. Following this, the Zoe Saldana and Selena Gomez starrer, we have The Brutalist and Wicked, both with 10 nominations. Conclave and A Complete Unknown have eight nominations, whereas Anora boasts six.
The Best Picture category seems highly diverse this year, and it is hard to predict which cinematic beauty will actually bag the accolade.
Actors like Adrien Brody, Timothée Chalamet, Ralph Fiennes, Colman Domingo, and Sebastian Stan have all been nominated for Best Actor. Meanwhile, actresses such as Mikey Madison, Cynthia Erivo, Fernanda Torres, and Demi Moore are competing for Best Actress.
India has a contender at this year’s Academy Awards: Anuja, a short film directed by Adam J. Graves and produced by Guneet Monga and Priyanka Chopra, is vying for the Best Live Action Short Film Oscar. Following her 2023 Oscar win for The Elephant Whisperers, Monga has the chance to become only the second Indian, after A.R. Rahman, to win two Academy Awards.
