Actor Prabhas is credited for making the Pan-India concept a sensation. With the humongous success and popularity gained by the ‘Bahubali’ franchise, the actor’s fan base hit a new high. The film wasn’t just one of the biggest box office hits, but also made Prabhas a national trophy. All big directors and various film industries want a piece of him and fans go into a tizzy with the actor’s new project announcements. Most recently, he announced the beginning of his new film ‘Spirit’, that marks his career’s 25th venture. Directed by ‘Kabir Singh’ director, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the movie will be jointly produced by T-series and Bhadrakali Pictures.
What especially caught our attention is that the new film will be released in eight different languages. Apart from the five Indian languages- Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam- the film will also be released in three international languages, they being Japanese, Chinese and Korean. These Asian languages have been mentioned on the film announcement poster shared by the actor. Taking to social media, Prabhas wrote that he was kick-starting his journey with ‘SPIRIT’. While the announcement of this project has already got fans excited, it is worth mentioning that this may be the dawn of a new era.
Indian actors have been global icons for quite some time now, however, this special international fan base was enjoyed by more stars from Bollywood than other industries. Fewer southern stars have seen as much popularity overseas, though it certainly looks like this is changing. Prabhas may now be credited for starting a new revolution of sorts with his films now reaching a wider audience. From Pan-Indian to Pan-Asian star, Prabhas is reaching for the sky and beyond. It’s only a matter of time before the newly crowned Pan-Asian star becomes a Global Icon.
