The makers of the seventh installment of the ‘Transformers’ film series have recently revealed that the film’s official title is ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’.
Alongside the title reveal, other important details pertaining to the film were also disclosed during the virtual press event. As the title suggests, the film will include robots who transform themselves into animal forms like a gorilla, falcon, and rhinoceros.
The production for ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ has reportedly commenced. The film is being helmed by Steven Caple Jr. (Director – Creed-II) and will feature Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback in the lead human roles. Ramos will essay the role of a Brooklyn-based ex-military electronics expert while Fishback will be portrayed as an artifact researcher in the film.
The latest Transformers film will reportedly take the audience on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure and will introduce the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons. Terrorcons will ostensibly be the film’s antagonists.
‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ will be set in the year 1994 and will narrate the backstory of Optimus Prime, whose look in the film will likely be similar to the original animated series and the popular 1980s toy line. Optimus Prime will purportedly be the film’s protagonist. The story will be set in Brooklyn, New York, and Peru, amongst other locations.
The first five films in the ‘Transformers’ film series from 2007 to 2017 were helmed by ‘Armageddon’ director Michael Bay while the 2018 prequel movie ‘Bumblebee’ was directed by Travis Knight. The films went on to become one of the highest-grossing film series with a box office figure of over $4.8 billion worldwide.
‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ is expected to release on June 24, 2022.
