The first trailer for ‘Poor Things‘ has been released now. It features Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe and Mark Ruffalo and is filled with amazing sci-fi grandeur. The film is directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and will be releasing on September 8.
The screenplay is written by Tony McNamara and it is adapted from the novel of the same name by Alasdair Gray. The novel came out in 1992. Apart from the three leading actors Stone, Dafoe and Ruffalo there are other actors like Ramy Youssef, Jerrod Carmichael, Christopher Abbott, Margaret Qualley and Kathryn Hunter.
The film will be a dark comedy and fans have been excited ever since the first look of the film released a few weeks ago. Yorgos Lanthimos is known for films like ‘The Lobster’ and ‘The Favourite’. It is a Frankenstein like story of bringing a body back to life and has many comedic elements to it. With so many wonderful actors in the cast, it is truly going to be a marvel. The music and visuals will be at par with the performances.
Poor Things tells the story of a maniac scientist who brings back a young lady to life after she is dead. She is then intrigued to learn many things from the scientist.
The teaser is only thirty and four seconds long but it is able to engage the audience with upbeat music and wonderful cinematography. The color grading and visuals are quite impressive, that is nothing new with Yorgos’ filmography. Emma Stone really looks stunning in the teaser. The film is going to have its theatrical release on the 8th of September this year.
