Shaji Kailas’s upcoming Malayalam language action movie ‘Kaduva’ starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Vivek Oberoi, and Samyuktha Menon is all geared up for its theatrical release on 30th June 2022. But for those of you who are planning to watch the film from the comfort of their homes or won’t be able to watch the film in theatres, there is no need to worry about it. Because, as per the latest buzz, ‘Kaduva’ is expected to start streaming on the Amazon Prime Video OTT platform after completing its theatrical run.
Prithviraj’s last film – the critically acclaimed legal thriller ‘Jana Gana Mana’, which was released in cinemas on 28th April, had started streaming on Netflix from 2nd June onwards. So, considering the 5-week window between the film’s theatrical and OTT release, ‘Kaduva’ should start streaming on Amazon Prime Video from around 4th August onwards.
Although official confirmation is still awaited regarding Kaduva’s OTT platform and exact streaming date. Having said that, the OTT release date will more or less depend on the film’s performance at the box office in the coming days. This implies that if the film performs exceptionally well in theatres, its OTT release could also be postponed. On the other hand, in case the film underperforms, it can arrive on OTT sooner than expected.
Helmed by Shaji Kailas (Director – Ekalavyan, Narasimham), ‘Kaduva’ takes place during the 1990s period and follows the story of a young an influential rubber planter Kaduvakunnel Kuruvachan (Prithviraj) from Mundakayam and his enmity with a senior cop D.I.G. Joseph Chandy (Vivek Oberoi). Samyuktha Menon is essaying the role of Prithviraj’s wife.
