Alt Balaji just dropped the trailer of its unnerving horror movie, Ragini MMS Returns Season 2, and it gives a taste of what awaits audiences tuning in.
Horrex, lots of it, is the flavour of Season 2. For the uninitiated, horrex is a new-fangled portmanteau of the words horror and sex, two genres of entertainment that always draw in viewers by the hordes. Ragini MMS Returns uses the Indian viewer’s fascination with both to its advantage, unleashing hefty doses of steamy making-out scenes and mind-numbing horror in the vivid and edgy frames.
This season features the real-life couple of Varun Sood and Divya Agarwal as leads, a pair that became a hit after the two confessed their love for each other on the show, Ace of Space. Sunny Leone also plays a prominent role in the show, besides shimmying to the hit item number, Hello Ji.
As per what we could glean from the trailer, the ghost in the narrative goes after anyone who makes a clandestine MMS video of a couple making love, or a guy who makes love to a girl without her explicit consent. Hmmm, quite intense and intriguing.
From the looks of the trailer, the makers Alt Balaji and ZEE5 have created a show with high production values, despite it being high on erotica. The jump scares, chills and suspense also seem to be spot on. Let’s see how the actual show pans out.
