Raj & DK Finally ‘Speak Up’ Over The Family Man S2 Controversy

Raj & DK Finally ‘Speak Up’ Over The Family Man S2 Controversy

Looks like the artists and the creators are finally fed up with the controversies shrouding the release of The Family Man Season 2. Since the release of the trailer, it’s continuously getting negative comments and verbal attacks from a portion of viewers who think the show incorrectly portrays a certain community of Tamil people.

Yesterday we saw Shreya Dhanwanthary, the actor from season one of The Family Man has strongly condemned the ban demands. And Now, the creators themselves, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K., fondly known as Raj & DK has released an official statement which has been further circulated in social media by the co-director of the season 2 episodes, Suparn Verma and the lead of the show, Manoj Bajpayee.

Raj & DK expressed their pain over the controversy through their statement. They stated that people are reacting based on assumptions from a couple of shots in the trailer which is unfortunate. They requested the audiences to watch the show first and then react. They also ensured that there were a lot of people associated with the second season who are Tamil and they never intended to hurt the glory of Tamil people and culture. They also requested not to make any unnecessary assumptions because they have given their heart and soul in making the series so that people could enjoy it. They are also hopeful that once people get to witness the show, they will surely appreciate it.

From the day the trailer of The Family Man Season 2 released, people started bashing the show over portraying Eelam Tamil people as terrorists and most importantly a major Tamil actress Samantha Akkineni as the antagonist. When TN government wrote I&B Minister Prakash Javadekar to ban the release of the show on 4th June across the country, the mentioned that, “Samantha as a terrorist in the serial is directly an attack on the pride of Tamils living around the world and no one will tolerate this kind of motivated and mischievous campaign”.

We still do not know if the season 2 of The Family Man will be able to see the daylight on 4th June or will be banned citing communal angle, but it looks like the artists are now uniting together to speak their hearts out to ensure that that’s work pays off and people get to enjoy the results of their hard work.

Check out the statement of Raj & DK via Manoj Bajpayee’s twitter handle:
