Controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV)used to flood OTT platforms with content when the entire Indian cinema was shut during the Lockdown. We do not know how he shot those films but he is used to churning content every now and then. He used to release them on some faceless OTT platforms on pay per view basis. We do not know if he earned anything from those films but he is now all set to start his own OTT platform.
He is now planning to launch a new OTT platform called Spark. The announcement has come on Ram Gopal Varma’s 57th Birthday. He brought in Senior Telugu journalist, Swapna to overseas the OTT platform operations. Besides bringing everything RGV wishes to create in the future, Spark will also be an entry and launch platform for talented filmmakers. All that one has to do is send him a two-odd minute trailer of an idea. If RGV likes it, the Game is on.
Ramu also says censorship of OTT content makes no sense. “When you can not control what can be watched on the internet, there is no way you can censor the content coming on OTT,” the maverick filmmaker opines about the censorship debate going on in the country.
Happy to announce @Swapnajourno has joined SPARK the new OTT being floated by me and @SparkSagar1 ..The super famous News host for the first time stepped out of her journo background and we think SPARK will benifit tremendously from her vast experience in many aspects 💪 pic.twitter.com/W5QwzspV1E
