The much-anticipated biographical cricket drama, 83, is set to release on December 24 this year. Ranveer Singh’s fanbase has been anxiously waiting for its trailer to drop on social media for the last few months. Well, their wait is finally over. The movie’s first official trailer will dispatch on either December 1 or 2. It all depends upon the availability of Ranveer Singh. He is currently busy filming other projects.
Kabir Khan is helming the forthcoming movie. He is also serving as one of the producers of the film alongside Deepika Padukone and Sajid Nadiadwala. ‘83’ movie is being hailed as Khan’s dream project. Earlier, it was ready to hit the theatres in April 2020. But makers scrapped its release as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
This year witnessed a new release date for the project, June 4. But due to various state governments banning cinema theatres, it became impossible for the makers to release the movie theatrically. It is rumoured to have a budget of more than 100 crores. Additionally, the streaming services do not provide a whoomping profit to the producers.
Akshay Kumar’s cop action movie, Sooryavanshi, has collected more than 280 crores worldwide so far. Its huge success has inspired many filmmakers to release their upcoming projects exclusively in theatres. Kabir Singh’s 83 is also on that list.
