The political multi starrer, ‘Naaradan’ gets a new release date, weeks after its initial release date got postponed. This heavily anticipated film features Tovino Thomas as its lead. The actor is coming from a career highpoint, having just portrayed Mollywood’s first-ever superhero. According to the trailer that dropped last month, there is a good chance that the actor will be portraying an anti-hero onscreen. To know more, check out the trailer at the end of this article or watch the movie when it drops in the first week of March.
‘Naaradan‘ was supposed to release in theatres around the globe on January 27th 2022, but two weeks before its theatrical release, it got indefinitely postponed. This happened due to the sudden rise in Covid-19 and Omicron cases, especially in Kerala and the last time the number of Covid cases increased, there was a statewide lockdown for two months and theatre lockdown for another five. But now, according to the latest reports, these cases have turned out to be manageable and many films are getting new release dates – including the aforementioned ‘Naaradan’.
The title of the movie ‘Naaradan’ seems to be based on the Hindu God, Narada (who is called Naaradan in Malayalam). According to lore, Narada is a travelling deity who passes information and news to mortals and deities alike. Seeing that the film is based on television journalism, the title seems quite apt.
The Tovino Thomas starrer, ‘Naaradan’ will premiere in theatres on March 3rd 2022.
