The 2020-21 edition of the UEFA Champions League ended on 29th May 2021, with Chelsea beating Manchester City 1-0. This signified the end to club football activities, for some time at least, and now we are looking forward to the second-largest nation-based football competition in the world – The UEFA Euros 2020! As mentioned in our earlier article, the Euros will be streaming on SonyLIV in India, but now all 24 teams making up the competition have finally been decided.
Similar to the World Cup, the UEFA Euros is a once-in-four-years running tournament and as the name suggests, the UEFA Euros 2020 was supposed to happen during 2020. But of course, the pandemic happened and the tournament was delayed indefinitely. And now, it is only 11 days away from the beginning of the competition.
The 2020 Euros will feature 51 matches across 12 cities in Europe – Saint Petersburg, Bucharest, Budapest, London, Rome, Bilbao, Baku, Copenhagen, Dublin, Glasgow, Amsterdam and Munich. The finals of the Euros will take place at the famous Wembley stadium in London. Portugal is returning to the Euros as defending champions and has now got an even better squad compared to their previous one.
The 24 countries have been split into the following 6 groups:
Group A: Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, Wales
Group B: Belgium, Russia, Denmark, Finland
Group C: Ukraine, Netherlands, Austria, North Macedonia.
Group D: England, Croatia, Czech Republic, Scotland.
Group E: Spain, Poland, Sweden, Slovakia.
Group F: Germany, France, Portugal, Hungary.
The Euros will stream in India on Sony LIV from 11th Jun 2021 till 11 July 2021.
