Some people think about something, some people dream about something, and then some people are laughed at for dreaming something absurd. You can say that Rose island is a movie about the latter, but in this case, he lands up shutting the mouths of all his critics.
Rose Island is a true story about Giorgio Rosa, who founded his own tiny island off the coast of Rimini in 1968 and declared it a nation drawing the attention of the world.
I’m sure that many of you must have wanted to leave the nation to go on a trip or to settle somewhere else, but this man took it to a whole different level. The real troubles started when the Italian government declared him an enemy but changing the world was never an easy process. (In this case, he actually changed the face of the world)
What ensues are the troubles of running a nation, navigating a path to ensure your survival and a whacky number of people who want to be a part of this revolution. I don’t know if it right to call it a revolution but Rose Island offers you something really unique and interesting when it comes to its list of titles based on true stories, and we know there are many. (PS: We ourselves couldn’t believe that this title was based on a true story)
It is a tale of freedom, a story of a generation of dreams and more importantly, a crazy man and his friends who dared to follow that dream.
Rose Island is an Italian special with the option of English subtitles coming to Netflix on 9th December.
