TVF is the most interesting company in the Indian OTT space. There is absolutely no competition to them as their series is leaps and bounds above than anyone can ever touch.
Permanent Roommates, Pitchers came back in the mid-2010s when the concept of web series was alien to the Indian masses.
Kota Factory about JEE aspirants, Aspirants about UPSC candidates, Pitchers about corporates and so many great shows are there which have been created by TVF. Mind you that we didn’t include Gullak and Panchayat in the previous statement.
All these shows are so great because whoever watches them, relates to them. TVF shows are not some sermons that go unnoticed but every frame is thoughtfully written and every dialogue is realistic.
If we see their latest venture then it is Saas Bahu Achaar Pvt Ltd which is streaming on Zee5. As the name suggests, it is about Indian women from the middle class. Needless to say, it is also in the same league of relatability.
But the question is, for how long? How long will such great writers of TVF continue with relatability? Shouldn’t they rise above and make something challenging?
There is absolutely no doubt about their dedication to filmmaking as their current portfolio screams their talent.
But one must not doubt that it is now saturating. There is a limit as to how much of such content people will enjoy. A time when people disregard such a series won’t be too long to come.
Thus, TVF needs to try something new.
