The New York Times has published its list of the Top 30 International Shows of the Decade. And heartwarmingly enough, an Indian show has made it to the esteemed list. The show is Netflix’s Sacred Games, without a doubt, a well-deserved addition.
The inclusion of Sacred Games in the list of top 30 international shows of the decade is a shot in the arm for the nascent online content space in the country, which has taken off at a fast clip in the last couple of years.
Of course, the first half of the decade had been like a springboard for the web domain, with a few quality shows making it to the web space. But the decade ends with the web medium taking off and gathering steam with gusto. A huge number of high quality shows are currently being made in the country with invigorating regularity.
Hard-hitting drama, Netflix’s Delhi Crime, and Epic Channel’s Stories by Rabindranath Tagore, too received honorable mentions for their innovative content.
