Since the time we have heard that Samantha Akkineni is gonna be a part of Amazon Prime Video’s ‘The Family Man’ season 2, the already high anticipation for the show has increased to an altogether newer levels. The charming south actress though will be seen in a not so glamorous role this time, which is exactly what she wanted.
‘The Family Man’ season 2 directors Raj and DK were all gaga about Samantha and her action sequences in the show as revealed in a video during Samantha’s celebrity chat show ‘Sam Jam’ on Aha Video, where Tamannaah Bhatia was a guest.
Raj and DK were immensely impressed with Samantha’s dedication for the role and the way she prepared herself in terms of fitness and flexibility. They said that her punches during the shoot were so good that it felt like she was hitting someone for real. The creators couldn’t stop themselves from praising her and even compared her with the popular south star Nagarajuna, saying that she is giving a tough competition to all the boys out there.
Now isn’t that impressive! This surely pumps up the excitement of the fans of both ‘The Family Man’ season 2 and Samantha Akkineni alike. Reportedly, Samantha will be playing the role of an antagonist in the much awaited new season of the Amazon Prime Video series that might release in February 2021.
‘The Family Man’ season 2 not only marks Samantha’s digital début but also her first Hindi language project. She had earlier praised OTT platforms for the role they have played in evolving the Indian cinema in a positive manner and also how it has helped the women of the industry in moving forward and play powerful leads in the web series and movies.
‘The Family Man‘ season 2 will pick from where it left off in the previous season with Shrikant Tiwari (Manoj Bajpayee), a witty spy in the guise of a middle-class man struggling with his own family issues, chasing hard core terrorists. The first season was remarkable in the sense that it had all that the audience wants these days, that is, action, drama, thrill, suspense and all this topped with a unique style of humour that was the show’s star factor.
Other than Manoj Bajpayee and Samantha Akkineni, ‘The Family Man’ season 2 brings back the season 1 actors including Priyamani, Sharib Hashmi, Neeraj Madhav, Kishore and Gul Panag among others.
With the shooting complete and post production work in progress, ‘The Family Man’ Season 2 is most likely to launch on Amazon Prime Video in February 2021, though nothing is confirmed as of yet.
