Sardar Udham is a highly anticipated film that audiences have been waiting for ever since filmmaker Shoojit Sircar announced its making. Like we wrote earlier, it is a story waiting to be told. Vicky Kaushal as the martyr Sardar Udham Singh has won the hearts of one and all in the Sardar Udham trailer that dropped last week. For those who don’t know yet, Sardar Udham will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on October 16th, 2021, that is Dusshera day.
While the trailer gave us ample insight into Vicky Kaushal’s Sardar Udham Singh – his life, principles and what drove him to sacrifice his life for the country’s freedom struggle, there was zero glimpse of Bhagat Singh, the other well known Indian freedom fighter who martyred himself for the country.
The stories of Sardar Udham Singh and Bhagat Singh ran parallel to each other in the 1920s. Both revolutionary freedom fighters believed in wresting freedom from the British by dint of force rather than Mahatma Gandhi’s more docile Satyagraha way. Both gave stunning blows to the British administration with their courageous deeds. It is a foregone conclusion that Bhagat Singh would be a part of the telling of Sardar Udham Singh’s story.
Now, lead actor Vicky Kaushal has fulfilled that that the trailer failed to give us. The actor gave us the first glimpse of Bhagat Singh, via a post this afternoon on his Instagram handle. The actor who has portrayed Bhagat Singh is none other than the adorable Amol Parashar. It remains to be seen how the baby-faced actor will pull off a role with such gravitas; coz Bhagat Singh is definitely all about gravitas.
