Sonu Sood’s action thriller Fateh has quietly made its way to OTT, without much buzz or big announcements. The film, which was released in theaters on January 10, 2025, didn’t perform well at the box office despite pushing a lot of buzz.
In Fateh, Sonu Sood plays an ex-special ops officer who now leads a peaceful life in Punjab as a dairy farm supervisor. But when a village girl, Nimrit Kaur, becomes a victim of a cybercrime syndicate, he steps in to save her. With the help of an ethical hacker, played by Jacqueline Fernandez, he fights against dangerous cybercriminals.
The movie features strong performances by Naseeruddin Shah, Vijay Raaz, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya. While the action sequences were praised, critics felt the story could have been stronger.
The film made its way to OTT very quietly, and it is now streaming on JioHotstar. Since the film was charred by critics and audiences, the platform might have thought that it is not worthy enough to be promoted.
For those who enjoy action-packed thrillers with a dose of cybercrime drama, Fateh might be worth a watch. Whether it will gain a new life on streaming remains to be seen, but for now, it’s just waiting to be discovered on JioHotstar.
