SonyLIV has re-launched its brand new website and mobile application with a host of exclusive and original movies and TV shows such as ‘For Life’, ‘Your Honour’ and ‘Kadakh’ to compete with its established peers in the market such as Amazon Prime and Disney+ Hotstar.
Originally launched in 2013, it displays a vast array of shows under the banner of Sony Pictures India Pvt Ltd. but to be able to attract viewers in such a fierce market is a challenge in itself which is probably why it has taken the decision to increase its prices for the quality it’s aiming to provide its viewers.
So as a part of its re-launch it has increased the subscription prices for its streaming services. The earlier model offered a monthly plan for Rs. 99, the six month plan for Rs. 299 and the annual plan for Rs. 499 but now it has revised its models.
The monthly plan is Rs. 299, the six month plan is Rs. 699 and the annual plan is for Rs. 999 which showcases an almost 100% increase in the annual price and a 200% increase in their monthly plan.
It has already premiered several exclusives on the website it has a host of other originals as well in the upcoming months. The highly praised film, ‘Bhonsle’ which stars Manoj Bajpayee is going to be released along with Raj Acharya’s ‘Avrodh – The Siege Within’, Hansal Mehta’s ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ and an original series by Vir Das.
With a line up like this viewers surely won’t be disappointed with the entertainment its offering but will have to wait and see whether it justifies the significant price rise in its subscription.
