From the past two years there has been a shift for every big Bollywood names in the direction of OTT. Be it Anurag Kashyap, Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan or Karan Johar in one way or the other, either by producing, directing or even acting for that matter. Now since they all have been garnering success in this field, top production houses such as YRF was in talks for bringing out their own OTT Platform. Seeing this popularity for the streaming platforms, one more big name from Bollywood is all set to venture into the market. We are talking about Dinesh Vijan who is on the roll in the silver screens as he has given back to back hits as a producer with films like Lukka Chuppi, Bala, Stree etc. Reportedly he in talks with several platforms and has created a sub division company under his banner Maddock Films named Outsider Films which is exclusively for digital content. The show is being produced by Dinesh Vijan and Fukrey franchise director
Mrigdeep Singh Lamba.
Vijan’s first web series is titled ‘Chutzpah’ and will be premiering on SonyLIV who have renovated themselves and bringing out various contents. The show is said to be a cybercrime drama and is eyeing release in 2021. Vijan has finalized the lead cast with his previous films actors – Varun Sharma and Manjot Singh. Now since these two are in the lead then we can expect that the show will be a light hearted drama with ample space for comedy. Both of them had previously worked together in Fukrey and Fukrey Returns. The show will focus on five different stories which interconnected with each other. Makers are still looking for a female lead and are eyeing different options to choose from. Talks were about Kritika Kamra being signed for the role but nothing is official as of yet.
The shooting for the show is supposed start from October 20 and the makers are eyeing to wrap it up by the end of November. With restrictions still in place and all the precautions to be made, the makers will be hoping that everything goes as planned.
