It has been less than two weeks since the massively popular Netflix series ‘Stranger Things 4’ premiered and its already setting new records. Not one or two, the show has made three new records!
According to data revealed by Netflix, ‘Stranger Things 4’ was viewed for a staggering 335.01M hours viewed in the last seven days and became the most watched season of English-language TV in a single week on Netflix.
It’s second record is that for the first time ever for an English TV series, ‘Stranger Things 4’ made it to number one spot in the top 10 lists in 91 countries. Not only that, it also went to become the first TV series to jump into the top 3 on Netflix’s Most Popular List (based on hours viewed in their first 28 days) with an astounding 621.80M hours viewed, that too in less than two weeks of its premiere.
Apart from the above three records, Netflix also stated how fans have been crushing over Kate Bush’s track “Running Up That Hill” from the show. So much so that in its 37-years history, the song made it to the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 Chart for the first time.
Moreover, fans have been rewatching the previous three seasons of ‘Stranger Things’ with 75.08M hours viewed, 58.27M hours viewed, and 47.42M hours viewed, respectively.
Apart from ‘Stranger Things’ the following is what Netflix revealed on its other trending English TV titles for the week:
‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ continues to remain in top 10 in 68 countries and was viewed for 42.53M hours.
‘Ozark’ season 4 had 16.77M hours viewed this week.
‘Bridgerton’ season 2 continues steadily with additional 9.99M hours viewed 11 weeks after its launch.
Coming to Non-English TV titles:
Spanish thriller ‘Wrong Side of the Tracks’ tops the list with 37.16M hours viewed and was in top 10 in 71 countries.
It was followed by final season of the gripping Mexican thriller ‘Who Killed Sara?’ that was viewed for 15.57M hours.
Next up is the top of English films that garnered highest viewership:
First is Elsa Pataky’s action-thriller ‘Interceptor’ that debuted with 35.6M hours viewed and was in the top 10 list in 93 countries.
At number two we have ‘A Perfect Pairing’ with 14.41M hours viewed until third week.
‘Senior Year’ makes entry at the third spot with an additional 13.26M hours viewed in its fourth week.
Among non-English films the winners are:
SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster Indian-Hindi musical epic ‘RRR’ beats all others by a huge lead to gain number one spot with 13.94M hours viewed.
Danish drama ‘Toscana’ is at number two with 5.54M hours viewed in its third week.
Dutch romantic comedy ‘F*ck Love Too’ had 4.78M hours viewed.
Omar Sy’s French comedy ‘The Takedown’ had 3.67M hours viewed and also made it to the fifth spot on the Most Popular list with 78.63M hours viewed.
Spanish comedy ‘The Perfect Family’ got 3.04M hours viewed.
