Netflix teased Stranger Things fans with first look photos from the upcoming season of the popular show. Fans have been waiting for any and every small update on the show and can’t wait for its imminent release of volume 1 of season 4 on May 27, 2022. These photos give out a horror movie vibe with glimpses of various characters across various locations. It also gives us a look at Jim Hopper, alive and well.
As was previously revealed, Season 4 of the show will find the characters scattered throughout four different creepy locations around the world, from snowy Russia to sunny California. As per the official synopsis, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and the rest of the crew will have to work together to defeat an even more vicious supernatural force and put a stop to the Upside Down once and for all.
In a release on its Tudum website, Netflix mentioned that the Duffer brothers hinted that fans have much to look forward to when Stranger Things returns in May. Ross Duffer shared, noting that some of the fan theories he’s seen online are “startlingly” accurate — though he wouldn’t say which ones. “I’m constantly impressed with how sharp the fans are, and how quickly they’re able to put something together with very, very little information.”
The Duffer Brothers also noted that the Season will have a much darker, “horror movie” vibe. Given that the actors in the show have grown up and are no more kids, he felt that the content required to lean much harder into the horror movie territory.
This could mean that the upcoming season will be meant for an adult audience and have a mature tone. It must be noted that Stranger Things fans belong to various age groups given its appeal.
The fourth season is set to be released in two volumes. Volume 1 will be available on 27th May with volume 2 coming to our screens on 01st July. The Duffer brothers, in a note penned to fans, had revealed that Season 4 will be the penultimate season of the show.
