The story of Aisha Chaudhary’s poignant, though short-lived, life is known to most of us. We’ve seen her uplifting talks, videos and motivational narratives on YouTube, read about her in newspapers, and heard about her from friends.
The perky teenager, who was diagnosed with an immunodeficiency disorder, and subsequently pulmonary fibrosis, an irreversible condition that is fatal, lived her short life with conviction and a will to inspire others.
A lot was known about Aisha and her considerable achievements. But next to nothing was known about her parents – Niren and Aditi Chaudhary, and their bittersweet struggle of raising a terminally-ill child.
The Sky is Pink recounts the bittersweet and poignant journey of Aisha’s parents, their love story of 25 years, and their emotions, as they grapple with the trials and tribulations of bringing up a child that they know won’t be with them for long. Yet they strive on, with love and longing, giving strength to each other, and waiting….for a miracle.
The Sky is Pink stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim, and is written and directed by Shonali Bose. It is a must-watch, in our opinion, and not to be missed.
