Superhero Series ‘Ms. Marvel’ Set for 2022 Release on Disney Plus

The recent buzz doing the rounds about an early 2022 release for Marvel’s much anticipated Disney Plus series ‘Ms. Marvel’ seems to have been confirmed just a couple of hours back. Through his recent Twitter post, senior entertainment journalist Adam B. Vary has confirmed that ‘Ms. Marvel’ series has been postponed from late 2021 to sometime in the year 2022.

And if some recent predictions are to be believed, the six-episodes ‘Ms. Marvel’ series might be available for streaming on Disney+ as early as February 2022. That is, soon after ‘Hawkeye’ series is scheduled to conclude in December 2021 end. Although speculations do not always hold true in Marvel’s case. Because earlier, some fans had also speculated that Ms. Marvel’s release might find a place between ‘What If…?’ and ‘Hawkeye’ series, that is, between 6th October and 24th November. But that is apparently not happening.

Created by Bisha L. Ali, the miniseries ‘Ms. Marvel’ will mark the on-screen debut of Canadian actress Iman Vellani, who is essaying the titular role of Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel. Releasing under the ambit of Phase-4 of the MCU, the series will eventually lead up to the Brie Larson starrer ‘Captain Marvel’ sequel film ‘The Marvels’, which is expected for a November 2022 theatrical release.

In ‘Ms. Marvel’, Iman Vellani will be seen in the role of a sixteen-year-old Muslim Pakistani American from Jersey who idolizes Marvel superheroes including Captain Marvel. She gains shape-shifting powers which she uses to fight crime.

Until now, MCU Phase-4 series releases include ‘WandaVision’, ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’, ‘Loki’, while ‘What…If?’ is already streaming. Besides ‘Ms. Marvel’, upcoming Marvel series titles include ‘Hawkeye’, ‘She-Hulk’, ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special’, and ‘Ironheart’, amongst others.
