Zee5’s latest espionage thriller “Lahore Confidential‘s” teaser is out now. The Zee5 original film helmed by Kunal Kohli is second in the series after “London Confidential” that released a little while ago. Lahore Confidential will premiere exclusively on Zee5 on 11th December 2020.
The one-minute-long teaser video begins with a shot of Islamabad, Pakistan where a couple (Richa Chaddha and Arunoday Singh) holding hands is roaming the streets, with poetry narrated by Chaddha’s character in the background. The poetry is sad and states the agony of being unlucky enough to have one’s lover as their enemy. It also goes on to justify one’s acts of sin as being fair in love and war.
While they look to enjoy each other’s company, there’s something sinister going on in the hindsight. And that gets clear with a thunderous bomb blast as soon as the poetry ends. With this comes the entry of Karishma Tanna as an Indian agent, who is headstrong and believes that an agent’s sole focus should be on their job and not love or friendship.
Tanna’s character also reminds that Pakistan is India’s forever enemy, and that keeps trying to screw it over. Meanwhile, there are murders happening and everyone looks suspicious of the other. The rest of the teaser gives glimpses of the drama unfolding in the Zee5 original film ‘Lahore Confidential’.
Lahore Confidential on Zee5 is a spy film with a mix of romance that follows a divorced woman (Richa Chaddha) whose love for Urdu poetry leads her into a dangerous spy ring in Lahore. The film has been directed by ‘Hum Tum’ and ‘Fanaa’ director Kunal Kohli and created by S. Hussain Zaidi.
Richa Chaddha(Masaan, Gangs of Wasseypur, Inside Edge) Karishma Tanna (Sanju, Grand Masti), and Arunoday Singh (Aisha, Jism 2, MainTera Hero) will be seen in pivotal roles in ‘Lahore Confidential’. The Zee5 original film has been produced by Ajay G. Rai’s JAR Pictures, the same company behind ‘London Confidential’.
The teaser looks quite promising with a lot of suspense and thrill going on with equal amounts of drama and romance. Richa Chaddha as always has adapted herself to the character effortlessly, with a strong screen presence from Karishma Tanna and Arunoday Singh as well.
