Gear up for another diabolical season of The Boys!
The production has commenced for The Boys Season 4. Actor Antony Starr recently shared a throwback photo from Season 1, featuring all the “prestigious” members of The Seven: Homelander, Starlight, Queen Maeve, A-Train, The Deep, Black Noir, and Translucent. He has confirmed that the shoot for the fourth season is officially underway.
With Season 4 inching closer to our screens with every passing day, here’s what we know about the upcoming entry of Prime Video’s The Boys.
The Boys Season 4: What we do know about the plot?
Billy Butcher will return
The c**t-slayer, Billy Butcher, is back! Oh, yes! We will see Karl Urban reprising the fan-favourite character in the forthcoming season. However, his future in the show is uncertain, considering the drastic side-effects he endured after frequently shooting himself up with Compound V in the last season. We see him in critical condition during the final moments of Season 3’s finale. Will we see the last of Billy Butcher in Season 4? Only time will tell us.
Kripke confirms Homelander will die… at some point…
Speaking of c**ts, how can we forget to mention the biggest c**t to walk on the face of The Boys’ world, our very own milk-loving Homelander? He completely lost his damn mind in the last season or what was left of it. Now, get ready for some tricky questions. Will he finally go insane? Or can Ryan change him after arriving into his life? How will he meet his demise?
We will see Homelander and Butcher tussling over Ryan in the fourth season. In an interview with Metacritic, Eric Kripke revealed, “A lot of the story of certainly the next season is both Homelander and Butcher fighting over Ryan. It becomes like a custody battle with apocalyptic stakes. Will Ryan go into the light or will Ryan go into the shadows? In so many ways, season three was about fathers, and so, there’s quite a few stories in season four that are about sons.”
Shedding some light on Homelander’s death, Kripke added, “There’s no way the series ends without Homelander dying. I’m just not comfortable with keeping that guy alive in the universe. We have to do something!”
Soldier Boy, Queen Maeve, and Black Noir: Will they return?
We see Soldier Boy getting captured and returning to his cold storage again in the last season’s finale. And viewers also discovered that he was, in fact, Homelander’s daddy. Whoa! That was a complete shocker!
Speaking to Deadline, Kripke said, “I’m hoping we see Soldier Boy again.”
We all are waiting to see Soldier Boy again, Eric! Trust us!
As for Maeve and Black Noir, the chances of the former’s return are more. At least she is still alive after losing almost all her powers to Soldier Boy’s destructive blasting power. However, this scenario may reduce Maeve’s screentime in Season 4. But maybe it’s for the best! Starlight will grow on her own this way. We have seen Annie calling for Maeve’s help every time whenever sh*t starts going south. On the other hand, we are not sure how Black Noir will return. Poor guy lost more than half of his brain and face during his one-sided fight with Soldier Boy in Season 3.
The Boys Season 4: Who’s in the cast?
It seems like the majority of the cast will return for Season 4. Talents like Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, and many more will grace our screens once again.
When will Season 4 come out?
