The Flash director Andy Muschietti has teased his involvement in DCU’s upcoming Batman film, “The Brave and the Bold”.
Josh K. Elliot, the senior global editor at Narcity Canada, recently talked with Muschhietti and discussed how the helmer felt about including Tim Burton’s Batman (Michael Keaton) and Zack Snyder’s Batman (Ben Affleck) in his upcoming directional. When asked what kind of spin he would put on the World’s Greatest Detective if he took the iconic superhero character in a “Brave and Bold” direction, Muschetti replied, “Oh, that’s… I don’t think I can talk to that…yet.”
Is The Flash director Andy Muschietti going to direct Batman: The Brave And The Bold in James Gunn’s DCU?
I brought it up and his response is … interesting 👀#theflashmovie pic.twitter.com/VFH9Tt1YbT— Josh K. Elliott (@joshkelliott) May 29, 2023
Although, it should be noted that no official word about Muscheitti helming The Brave and the Bold has been released by Warner Bros.
After gaining worldwide prominence with Mama (2013), Muschietti served as a director in features such as It (2017) and It Chapter Two (2019).
The Brave and the Bold is one of few projects that has been announced by DCU’s co-head, James Gunn, as part of his forthcoming ‘Chapter One: Gods and Monsters’. The project will reportedly take inspiration from the 2006 comic story arc, “Batman and Son”.
This is what Gunn has revealed about the upcoming Dark Knight instalment so far:
“This [film] is the introduction of the DCU Batman. Of Bruce Wayne and also introduces our favorite Robin, Damian Wayne, who is a little son of a b##ch.”
The Flash will release worldwide in theatres on June 16. Helmed by Andy Muschietti, the superhero film stars Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdu, and more. Stay tuned for more updates.
