‘The Kashmir Files’ is going to re-release in Indian theaters on the 19th of January. It is probably the first time that an Indian film is having a second theatrical release within one year of its release.
‘The Kashmir Files’, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, was first released on the 11th of March last year. It is centered on the 1990’s exodus of Kashmiri Hindus. 19 January is The Kashmiri Hindu Genocide Day. It grossed more than three hundred crore rupees at the box office and was a blockbuster success.
Though there are controversies regarding the film being a propaganda film for the followers of the right wing ideologies, audiences loved the film and it was one of the biggest hits of 2022 from India.
It is very visible that despite so much controversies, the film has made a quite good fan base and has been able to impress audiences, even though it kind of offended certain audiences. The theatrical re-release is indeed a big thing for the makers of the film and also for the fans. If you somehow missed the chance to witness ‘The Kashmir Files’ on the big screens, now is your time. You can watch the movie in theaters on the January 19, The Kashmiri Hindu Genocide Day.
