We are in the year 2020, a year that has been mostly filled with sorrow, hardships, lockdown and COVID-19. The country went into a full-on pause mode by the end of March and for most of us it has been like that for the last 8 months almost now. Most people are still working from home; students are still going on classes through the online mode (mostly). It’s the second last month of the year, it seemed like we went into hibernation from spring and then coming out in the winters now. It has been a tremendous year for everyone and somehow we are praying in 2021 we get some sort of freedom from all this.
When everything stopped, there was one thing that constantly stood by our side and that is, “webseries and everything in the world of OTT”. Movies stopped releasing in the halls and came to us directly on our screens making the wait for many of us less. We survived this year with all these around us and we couldn’t be happier about that. This made us think of the times when we didn’t have all these. These webseries and OTT platforms or at least we weren’t familiar with it or it was way too costly.
Then came TVF and everything took a turn for the good. TVF, released “Permanent Roommates” in the year 2014 and it became India’s first successful web series to be streamed online. The views are still counting for this series and it’s going to be that way probably for some more years. Along the course TVF came out with more and more web series that targeted the youth of India, and what a target they set. Almost all their shows turned super hit among this generation of youngsters. They chose those little bonds, the sibling bonds, the hostel mates, the coaching class days, the early and mid 90s and they gave a whole new meaning to it.
They talked about dreams and making them come true, friendships that were there to stay, they showed us things get real fast when we chase those dreams through another hit of theirs “TVF Pitchers”. A series that gained attention so much that it was considered India’s very own “Silicon Valley”.
They made so many series such as TVF Tripling, Yeh Meri Family, Kota Factory, Inmates and many more. All these saw success and love from all of us and I wouldn’t mind going back to them again and again. A personal favourite of mine will always be Tripling. I am a single child but never felt the emptiness of not having siblings, but this show struck the cord and the way it did will forever impact me. After watching that show I learnt the meaning of having siblings and that is how one can be sure that TVF’s job was done.
Thanks to “The Viral Fever” people came across a world that was digitally everyone’s but completely ours at the same time by all means.
