SonyLIV is going South Indian with a vengeance! After a slew of interesting and well-received Tamil and Telugu films, the fast-growing OTT platform is now bringing an exclusive Malayalam film for its subscribers. Titled ‘Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam‘, the film is a gripping drama on social mores, family secrets and other distinctly Indian idiosyncrasies. SonyLIV has just dropped the first trailer for the film, with a release date to follow soon.
‘Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam’ is set in small-town Kanhangad, situated in North Kerala. Arrangements are underway for Vijayan’s second daughter, Suja’s engagement. But it is far from a perfect ceremony. Vijayan is in a financial mess, while Suja is having second thoughts about the wedding. To add to the melee, family members swoop into the home, and family secrets start to surface. It is an unsettling scenario, steeped in perfunctory Indian customs.
‘Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam’ is written and directed by Senna Hegde. Interestingly, Kanhangad is Senna’s hometown, allowing him to capture the nuances of small-town living. The film is produced by Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah, and stars Anagha Narayanan, Aishwarya Suresh, Ajisha Prabhakaran, Anuroop P, Arjun Ashokan, Arpith PR, Manoj K U, Ranji Kankol, Sajin Cherukayil, Sunil Surya, Unnimaya Nalappadam in pivotal roles.
