Earlier this month, we had apprised our readers that Kamal Haasan’s latest action outing ‘Vikram’ (Rank 13) had made its way to IMDb’s top 250 Indian movies of all time. It’s one of the few films so far from the year 2022 that’s included in the coveted IMDb list which boasts of some big names like S.S Rajamouli’s period actioner ‘RRR’ (Rank 169) and Prashanth Neel’s ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ (Rank 101).
And most recently, a Kannada language Indian movie has not only become a part of IMDb’s highest rated Indian movies list but has also outranked Jr. NTR and Ram Charan’s massive blockbuster ‘RRR’. The film’s name is ‘777 Charlie’, which currently holds Rank 116 compared to RRR’s Rank 169. As of now, ‘777 Charlie’ holds a highly impressive IMDb user rating of 9.2/10 based on more than 9k votes.
And in doing that, ‘777 Charlie’ is now ahead of some fine Indian movies such as ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, ‘DDLJ’, ‘KGF-1’, ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’, ‘Nayattu’, and ‘Baahubali; The Beginning’, to name a few. Moreover, ‘777 Charlie’ has garnered a highly impressive 97% positive feedback on the movie ticketing portal BookMyShow.
Helmed by Kiranraj. K, ‘777 Charlie’ was released in theatres on 10th June 2022 and the film received positive reviews from the audiences and critics. The movie features Rakshit Shetty as the protagonist Dharma, who lives a lonely and dull life as a factory worker. His life suddenly takes a positive turn when a naughty and lively stray Labrador dog named Charlie enters his life. How Charlie’ presence changes Dharma’s perspective towards life and bonds with him, forms the film’s underlying premise.
