Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘The Sandman’, ‘Thirteen Lives’, ‘Lightyear’, ‘Wedding Season’, and ‘Carter’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up for release. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on Indian OTT platforms from this week.
Elvis (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video, BookMyShow Stream, Hungama Play – PPV from 8th August)
Helmed by Baz Luhrmann, the film revolves around the life of the ‘King of Rock and Roll’ Elvis Presley (played by Austin Butler). The goings-on are narrated from the perspective of Elvis Presley’s complicated relationship with his manager Colonel Tom Parker (played by Tom Hanks) over a period of two decades. The movie showcases Elvis Presley’s incredible journey right from his early years to becoming a pop star and gaining international stardom.
I Just Killed My Dad (Streaming on Netflix from 9th August)
The true crime documentary series focuses on why a young man named Anthony Templet killed his own father allegedly for self-defence. The show throws some light on his state of mind before the incident and the abusive relationship he had to endure.
Bank Robbers: The Last Great Heist (Streaming on Netflix from 10th August)
The true crime documentary film narrates how a group of bank robbers executed the infamous heist at the Buenos Aires bank in Argentina in 2006 and eventually how they were caught by the cops.
Locke & Key Season 3 (Streaming on Netflix from 10th August)
It’s a supernatural mystery-horror show that revolves around the three Locke siblings who relocate to their ancestral home along with their mother after the mysterious death of their father. They soon find many magical keys inside the house which they think are somehow related to their father’s death.
A Model Family (Streaming on Netflix from 12th August)
The South Korean crime thriller series is about a down on luck professor Dong-Ha (Jung Woo), who is on the verge of becoming penniless and getting divorced. But after he accidentally finds a car loaded with money, he crosses paths with a powerful drug cartel and his family reunites to face the circumstances.
Day Shift (Streaming on Netflix from 12th August)
The action horror flick features Jamie Foxx as a diligent blue-collar worker who wants a good life for his daughter. He works as a pool cleaner, but his seemingly ordinary job only acts as a front for his main source of income – vampire hunting.
Never Have I Ever Season-3 (Streaming on Netflix from 12th August)
The high-school comedy drama series revolves around the life of Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan), an Indian American teenage girl and focuses on her relationships with friends and her romantic interests.
Victoria’s Secret: Angels and Demons (Streaming on Lionsgate Play from 12th August)
In the three-part documentary series, director Matt Tyrnauer investigates the disturbing connection between the infamous Jeffrey Epstein and business tycoon and CEO of lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret.
A League of Their Own (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 12th August)
The eight-part period sports comedy drama series revolves around the story of World War-II All-American professional women’s baseball league.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season-8 (Streaming on Netflix from 13th August)
The show follows the amusing adventures of the brilliant Brooklyn detective Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) and Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher) as their police squad try to balance their personal and professional lives.
Peacemaker (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 14th August)
Created by James Gunn, the show is set after the events of his own film ‘The Suicide Squad’ and follows the journey of the adorably eccentric anti-hero Christopher Smith aka Peacemaker (played by wrestler turned actor John Cena), who is enlisted for a world-saving mission called Project Butterfly with a black-ops team.
