Top 15 Must Watch Telugu Movies on Amazon Prime Video

By Siddartha Toleti - May 26, 2020 @ 07:05 am

Top Must Watch Telugu Movies Amazon Prime VideoTelugu cinema has turned a new leaf in the last decade. Here we take a look at Top Telugu Movies on Amazon Prime that are available on Amazon Prime Video. The movies picked here are from 2011 to present for Top Telugu Movies on Amazon Prime.

Rangasthalam:

The Sukumar directorial is a groundbreaking movie for a star in Telugu cinema. Never before did we see someone presented this rooted and realistically. It is a huge risk for a top star and boy did they pull it off? What makes it further a killer deal is not losing the commercial sensibilities. Rangasthalam is also a thorough entertainer out and out with emotions in equal measures. Ram Charan delivered his career-best act, shutting down his critics, and the rest chipped in with appealing bits.

Mahanati:

Hands down, one of the best biopic made in Telugu cinema, if not the best. Keerthy Suresh lived in the role of Savitri and deservedly won a National Award for her act. Director Nag Ashwin presented a known story in a fresh manner with an extraordinary background score by Mickey J Mayer. Dulquer Salman quietly made a blockbuster entry to Telugu cinema. Watch out for the end, it will bring a tear to the eyes of even the most stone-hearted people.

Arjun Reddy:

The movie of the decade from Telugu cinema that turned Vijay Deverakonda into a metro monster. He became a sensation across the Southern states with his act. The never seen before attitude, screen presence and realistic depiction of pain in love touched every heart. Sandeep Reddy Vanga recreated the magic and earned national fame remaking the same film in Hindi.

Brochevarevarura:

On the surface, Brochevarevarura is another crime caper. What makes it stand out is the writing by director Vivek Athreya. It is a breeze of fresh air and made it clear that he is not a one-film wonder. The first half especially has unlimited repeat value making it a cult movie for youth.

Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya:

In his first full-fledged outing as a hero, Naveen Polishetty cast a spell on the audience. He made a hard sell genre for Telugu viewer a success with his sheer energy and force. If the actor doesn’t turn into a star in the decade ahead, the blame would squarely be on his choices rather than the talent.

Bharat Ane Nenu:

How can we have a list of top Telugu movies and not have a Superstar Mahesh Babu film(s)? His films with director Koratala Siva finds a place on the list as they blend commercial elements and social message in right proportions. A slight fumble and they could have easily turned into boring affairs. Luckily, that wasn’t the case for the fans. As CM Bharat, Mahesh Babu offered a supremely memorable character and performance.

Goodachari, Evaru:

The movies are a prime example of evolving tastes of Telugu audience. Along with the previously mentioned Agent Sai Srinivas Anthreya, these movies belong to genres usually underappreciated or poorly made in Telugu cinema. Adavi Sesh especially is making a mark in this space. The young generation of storytellers and viewers are showing they are ready for new narratives. We feel the more the merrier.

Sye Raa:

The dream project of Megastar Chiranjeevi offers breathtaking visuals. The performance of Chiranjeevi further seals the deal. The climax will be a memorable chapter acting-wise in the long and illustrious career of Megastar. Surender Reddy deserves some appreciation for undertaking such a massive assignment without any prior experience of handling a big budget visual spectacle. His technical brilliance definitely came in handy, we must say.

Majili, Ninnu Kori:

Ninnu Kori and Majili brought us a new talent in the form of Shiva Nirvana. Both the films set in the backdrop of Vizag offer a fresh view of the city. The fact that it feels so, despite it being presented a countless number of times on Telugu cinema screen highlights the vision of the director. The excellent performances across the board from the lead to the supporting cast further cements the impression. It also helps that he got actors like Nani, Nivetha Thomas, Aadi, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha trusting his imagination entirely.

Fidaa:

Fidaa is Sekhar Kammula in a free-flowing form. It is also the director rediscovering his form and becoming a force again. A rooted love story set in the village of Telangana won everyone over. Sai Pallavi stole the show with her Bhanumati ‘single-piece’ acting. The music and the first half give it an infinite repeat value.

Mirchi:

The blockbuster that marked the debut of Koratala Siva as a director is one for the ages for mass movie lovers. It wouldn’t be an overstatement to say that Mirchi is the best unadulterated commercial mass fare of the last decade outside Baahubali movies. Add Darling and Mr Perfect, before them, it isn’t, therefore, any wonder that Young Rebel Star Prabhas became the Indian Rebel Star post these phenomenally entertaining movies.

Ala Modalaindi:

Natural Star Nani started his career with a bang with his debut itself. However, it was this small rom-com gem that catapulted his stardom to the next level. Nandini Reddy, in her debut, came up with a highly entertaining story that clicked with all segment of the audience. Nithya Menon was the next big thing post the release and she lived up to the expectations with other success as well.

Raja Varu Rani Garu:

And finally, we end the list of Top Telugu Movies on Amazon Prime with a relatively new release featuring virtually unknown star cast. This film proves that Telugu cinema is headed in the right direction with more emphasis on rooted and realistic drama presented in a slick manner.
