Last week was marked with the arrival of many exciting Indian OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Humble Politiciann Nograj’, ‘Anbarivu’ ‘Cubicles Season 2’, and ‘Kaun Banegi Shikharwati’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have collated a list of top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
Ranjish Hi Sahi (Streaming on Voot from 13th January)
Created by real-life veteran director Mahesh Bhatt, the series is set amidst the backdrop of the 1970s Bollywood era and the story revolves around a reel-life veteran director Shankar Vats (played by the immensely talented Tahir Raj Bhasin), who gets involved in an extra-marital relationship with a volatile cinematic superstar. It also features Amala Paul and Amrita Puri in pivotal roles.
Human (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 14th January)
It’s a medical thriller web series based on the scarcely touched-upon subject of human drug trials. The show features acclaimed actress Shefali Shah as Dr. Gauri Nath – a legendary surgeon and her protégé Dr. Saira Sabharwal (played by Kirti Kulhari). Its underlying premise seems to be based on human trials related to a heart disease miracle drug called S-93R. The series is directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Mozez Singh.
Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadhaa (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 14th January)
It’s a follow-up to the 2020 Tamil anthology titled ‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai’ and would narrate five short heart-warming stories based on the themes of love, humanity, and hope. These five shorts have been directed by Balaji Mohan, Halitha Shameem, Madhumita, Richard Anthony, and Surya Krishnan and each story would be set amidst the backdrop of the pandemic and its effects.
Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein (Streaming on Netflix from 14th January)
Being touted as a dark, mind-bending psychological thriller, the show ostensibly revolves around a small-town man whose life goes haywire when the daughter of an influential politician wants to marry him at any cost. His desperate attempt to regain control over his own life forms the rest of the show’s plot. It features Tahir Raj Bhasin (Mardani), Shweta Tripathi (Mirzapur), and Anchal Singh in the lead roles.
Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana (Streaming on Zee5 from 14th January)
It’s a Kannada crime thriller movie that focuses its narrative on its two principal characters and soulmates Hari (played by Rishab Shetty) and Shiva (Raj B. Shetty). The story is set against the backdrop of modern-day Mangaluru, Hari and Shiva become ruthless gangsters in Mangaluru but circumstances turn them against each other.
