Top Foreign Titles Streaming This Week: Happiness, Outer Range & More

Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Return to Space’, ‘The King’s Man’, ‘Elite Season 5’, ‘Metal Lords’, and ‘Our Blues’, to name a few.

Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.

Happiness (Streaming on Netflix from 12th April)

It’s a South Korean apocalyptic thriller set in the near future. Special Operation Unit police squad member Yoon Sae-bom moves into her new apartment with her high school friend and detective Jung Yi-hyun. However, her happiness is short-lived after the outbreak of an infectious disease that results in her apartment getting sealed off. Now, the residents must learn to trust each other in order to survive the pandemic.

Hard Cell (Streaming on Netflix from 12th April)

The six-part British mockumentary comedy series is an amusing fictional take on life inside a woman’s prison. The show features Catherine Tate, who portrays multiple characters from a prison governor to a psychopath, among others.

Ultraman Season 2 (Streaming on Netflix from 14th April)

The Japanese manga series follows the story of Shin Hayata’s son Shinjiro, who assumes the mantle of the new Ultraman after his father. Now, Shinjiro must fight the powerful alien Bemular and save the planet with help of his superpowers and the top-secret Ultrasuit.

The Kardashians (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 14th April)

The reality show will ostensibly revolve around the highs and lows of the lives of the popular Kardashian/Jenner family and would also showcase their luxurious offices and sprawling houses. The series would feature Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, and Khloé Kardashian along with Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and Kris Jenner.

Death on the Nile (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 15th April)

Helmed by Kenneth Branagh, the mystery film is based on Agatha Christie’s well-known 1937 novel. Branagh reprises his role as the legendary Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, who must use his brilliant skills to identify the murderer of an affluent heiress. The whodunnit also features Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Ali Fazal, Annette Benning, and Tom Bateman, amongst others.

Outer Range (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 15th April)

The eight-part mystery thriller Western series revolves around a Wyoming-based rancher Royal Abbott (Josh Brolin), who is fighting for his land. He meets a drifter named Autumn (Imogen Poots) after which he gets involved in a supernatural happening related to his ranch.

Anatomy of a Scandal (Streaming on Netflix from 15th April)

Based on Sarah Vaughan’s book of the same name, the opening season of the British anthology series revolves around Sophie (Sienna Miller), the wife of a parliamentary minister James Whitehouse (Rupert Friend). But Sophie’s privileged life is turned upside down when her husband is accused of sexual assault and is taken to court.

The First Lady (Streaming on Voot from 17th April)

The anthology drama features Viola Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Gillian Anderson as former first ladies Michelle Obama, Betty Ford, and Eleanor Roosevelt, respectively. The show would narrate the goings-on from the perspective of these First Ladies and would highlight their personal lives, their journey to the White House, and their important political contributions.
