Top OTT Titles Streaming Today: Jamtara S2, Babli Bouncer & More

Friday is invariably an exciting day for OTT viewers and today is no exception. Some eagerly anticipated Indian and foreign films and series have already been or will be released today as well on various Indian OTT platforms. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top streaming titles (in no particular order) that are already out or will be out on Indian OTT platforms today.

Jamtara Season-2 (Streaming on Netflix)

‘Jamtara’ opening season was set in the Jamtara region of the Eastern Indian State of Jharkhand. The premise is about a group of small-town and ambitious youngsters led by the protagonists Rocky (Anshuman Pushkar) and Sunny (Sparsh Shrivastava) who are the brains behind a profitable social engineering phishing operation. Season-2 focuses on how scamsters trick gullible persons with the intention of trapping them through various kinds of scams. It would focus on a new scam apparently executed by using mobile SIM cards on a large scale.

Babli Bouncer (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)

The comedy drama movie features Tamannaah Bhatia in the titular role of an aspiring female bouncer – Babli Bouncer, who tries to achieve her dream of becoming a bouncer in Delhi. The coming-of-age and slice-of-life film has been directed by Madhur Bhandarkar and is set in the real bouncer town of North India – Fatehpur Beri.

Atithi Bhooto Bhava (Streaming on Zee5)

Helmed by Hardik Gajjar, the romantic drama movie’s plot follows a regular modern couple – a stand-up comedian Srikant (Pratik Gandhi) and Netra (Sharmin Sehgal). Their live-in relationship is going through a rough patch but soon takes an interesting turn when the ghost of Srikant’s grandson Makhan Singh (Jackie Shroff) from his earlier life enters his life.

Diary (Streaming on Aha Video)

Helmed by Innasi Pandiyan, the crime thriller movie features Arulnithi as a sub-inspector trainee who takes up an old case of the murder of a honeymoon couple which happened sixteen years back. He begins to investigate the mysterious case with SI Pavithra (Pavithra Marimuthu) and the proceedings take him to Ooty and a bus which is travelling to Coimbatore.

Sidney (Streaming on Apple TV+)

Helmed by Reginald Hudlin and backed by Oprah Winfrey, the documentary focuses on the iconic actor, filmmaker, and activist Sidney Poitier from the Golden Age of Hollywood. It features several interviews from film celebrities like Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, and Robert Redford.

Thiruchitrambalam (Streaming on Sun NXT)

The film’s story focuses on a food delivery person named Thiruchitrambalam / Pazham (played by Dhanush), who lives with his cop father (Prakash Raj) and his grandfather. He does not have a good relationship with his stern father. The basic plot is about how Pazham falls again for his high-school crush Anusha (Raashi Khanna) who belongs to the upper class. The love triangle completes with the presence of Pazham’s childhood friend and confidante Shobana (Nithya Menen), who loves Pazham but he does not know it.

Sugarless (Streaming on Voot Select)

The light-hearted comedy drama movie follows the story of a man named Venkatesh (Pruthvi Ambaar), who is diagnosed with Diabetes before getting married to Mahalakshmi (Priyanka Thimmesh). How he tries to hide his medical condition from his sweets-loving wife leading to amusing consequences is what the film is about.

Chhalle Mundiyan (Streaming on SonyLIV)

The comedy-of-errors family drama movie features Ammy Virk as Pammi, who returns from a foreign country to Punjab with a woman and a child. This causes confusion as his romantic interest Jassi (Mandy Thakkar) assumes that Pammi is married to the woman. The goings-on take another amusing turn when Pammi also begins to believe that Jassi is also married.

Abbott Elementary S02E01 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)

Created by Quinta Brunson, the mockumentary comedy series features Quinta Brunson in the role of a teacher named Janine Teagues at the Philadelphia-based titular public school named Abbott Elementary. Janine has recently joined the underfunded school as a second-grade teacher and the show narrates Janine and her fellow teachers’ endeavors to guide students to excel in their lives despite the odds.

First Day First Show (Streaming on Aha Video)

Directed by Lakshmi Narayana and Vamsidhar Goud, the film’s plot follows Srinivas (Srikanth Reddy), who is shown to be a huge fan of actor Pawan Kalyan. His college crush Laya (Sanchita Basu) asks him to get the first day first show movie tickets for the film Kushi. His attempt to get the FDFS movie tickets then forms the movie’s underlying story.

Blindspotting Season-2 (Streaming on Lionsgate Play)

It’s the sequel to the 2018 movie of the same name and takes place six months after the events shown in the film. The story focuses on Ashley’s character and how she and her son are forced to move in with the mother of her long-time partner Miles.

Kalapuram (Streaming on Zee5)

Helmed by Karuna Kumar, the comedy drama film revolves around an aspiring director Kumar (played Satyam Rajesh), who gets deceived by a devious producer. How the protagonist desperately tries to make his first film despite the problems, forms the movie’s underlying premise.

Lou (Streaming on Netflix)

Directed by Anna Foerster, the thriller movie follows an enigmatic woman with a mysterious past who must help a distressed neighbour to find the latter’s kidnapped daughter amidst the backdrop of a storm.
