Trailer for Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming documentary ‘Sons Of The Soil‘ is here. This latest sports docuseries follows the heartfelt aspirational journey of Pro Kabaddi League’s team Jaipur Pink Panthers owned by Abhishek Bachchan. ‘Sons Of The Soil’ will launch on Amazon Prime Video on 4th December, 2020.
After a few glimpses of some enthralling moments from the matches, the trailer begins with a press conference where Abhishek Bachchan and the team can be seen facing tough questions about them not winning any match for a long time. There is an evident embarrassment and disappointment on their faces.
The trailer further takes the viewers behind the scenes and through the pain and struggles that the players and the management went through. There even comes a point where the existence of the team hangs in balance and it all depends on the players to fight against all odds to come out of it strongly.
When the team, which becomes more like a family, starts to break down and lose, there comes a moment when all efforts feel like going down the drain and nothing seems to work. But it is in these challenging times that the strength of that same family’s togetherness and the determination to survive and win kicks in. And that’s what happens with Jaipur Pink Panthers who go on to win the celebrated Pro Kabaddi League, turning the tides in their favour.
Abhishek Bachchan’s mantra for the win comes almost towards the end of the trailer and that is, “Let’s be focused, let’s be strong, let’s be aggressive”, and it is these wise words that steer the team towards becoming champions. While he advices the players to kill it with their performance in the match, he also tells them that once a Panther will always be a Panther.
Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Sons Of The Soil’ “talks about the struggles, pain and the ultimate journey towards success” of the team. From rigorous training sessions, intensive practice matches, journey of the players, their motivation mantra and team spirit to capturing the nervousness and tension leading up to a match and the fights in between them, this sports documentary will show it all.
Directed by Alex Gale and Omkar Potdar, ‘Sons Of The Soil’ is an Amazon Original that has been made in association with the BBC Studios. It will feature Abhishek Bachchan, Bunty Walia, Deepak Niwas Hooda, Srinivas Reddy, Nilesh Salunke, Amit Hooda, Sandeep Dhull, Deepak Narwal and Nitin Rawal among others.
