MXPlayer has released the trailer for its latest original series ‘Pati Patni Aur Panga’. The 6 episode series is a comedy-drama with an unusual concept. ‘Pati Patni Aur Panga’ will premiere on MX Player on 11th December, 2020.
The trailer begins with Romanchak (Naveen Kasturia) and his mother (Alka Amin), meeting a lawyer, played by Hiten Tejwani, who asks them some weird questions about divorce and sex. Romanchak reveals that his wife was a man before marriage!
Going into the flashback we find a budding romance between Romanchak, a part-time broker and Shivani Bhatnagar (Adah Sharma) who meet while apartment hunting for the latter. This romance soon leads to marriage.
When a friend of Romanchak asks him if he had ever met or talked to any of Shivani’s friends or family and he says he hasn’t, his friend yells at him for being foolish to marry someone just because he found her beautiful.
The rest is usual confusion, frustration and weird public comments and reaction followed by some court scenes. While the divorce proceedings continue, Shivani finds herself in a bit of a trouble for hiding the fact about her sex change operation before marriage that can now be used against her in a sense that she committed fraud. Towards the end of the trialer one can see the sadness that separation brings and who knows a change of heart may follow.
Directed by Air Sengupta and starring Adah Sharma, Naveen Kasturia, Hiten Tejwani, Gurpreet Saini and Alka Amin, ‘Pati, Patni Aur Panga’ “explores what happens when a simple hunt for an apartment ends up in marriage, only for Romanchak to find himself stuck in a situation when he discovers a life-altering secret about his wife, Shivani.”

MX Player’s ‘Pati, Patni Aur Panga‘ tries to highlights a sensitive and important issue but lacks proper execution. The comedy itself seems a little forced and unnecessary. While the rest will become clearer when the series releases, the trailer looks a little sloppy.
‘Pati, Patni Aur Panga’ is an MX Original and will premiere on MX Player on 11th December 2020.
