It is pretty obvious that Indians are expanding their platform on a global level. Another remarkable achievement to this has been added by two Indian women filmmakers who just debuted on Netflix.
Interestingly, they are both American films but are based on Indian families.
Both the films are distributed by the same company called ‘Array Now’.
The first one in the list is called “Definition Please”. It was written and directed by Sujata Day. She also played the lead character of Monica Chowdry.
As we all know, Indian kids mostly dominate the SpellBee competition and the lead character also won the event held in 2005. The movie revolves around Monica and her elder brother who is not on good terms. Their mother’s health is deteriorating day by day and their relationship makes it even tenser in the house.

The second one is called Donkeyhead and it is about a Sikh family living in Canada. This film has been helmed by Agam Darshi who has written and directed it.
She has also played the lead character of Mona.
Mona is a failed writer who lives with her ailing father. She had been staying with him for the past seven years all alone while her three siblings made a successful career for themselves.
But after the diagnosis of her father, they show up at the house to take control of the situation.
