It has been more than 3 months in lockdown for India and more audiences are catching up with streaming services for entertainment, this being the safest option. And OTT platforms are delivering.
Here are some upcoming films in July –
Sufiyum Sujatayum (Amazon Prime) – is a romantic drama by ‘Naranippuzha Shanavas’ starring ‘Jayasurya’ and ‘Aditi Rao Hydari’. It will premiere on July 3rd.
Dil Bechara (Disney + Hotstar) – starring late ‘Sushant Singh Rajput’ and ‘Sanjana Sanghi’ directed by ‘Mukesh Chabbra’. It is an adaptation of ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ by John Green. It is releasing on July 24th.
Shakuntala Devi (Amazon Prime) – is a biographical story based on an Indian woman who was famously regarded as a human computer and achieved great things. It stars ‘Vidya Balan’ in the lead role. It will be released on July 31st.
Upgrade (Netflix) – follows a computer chip implant that allows a man to get his revenge, well what could go wrong? It is directed by ‘Mike Leigh’ starring ‘Logan Marshall Green’. It will be available on July 3rd.
Penalty (Netflix) – is a social issue drama revolving around deep embedded discrimination against an aspiring football player, starring ‘Lukram Smil’, ‘Kay Kay Menon’, ‘Manjpot Singh’ and ‘Shashank Arora’. It will be available on July 4th.
French Biryani (Amazon Prime) – directed by ‘Puneeth Rajkumar’ comes a journey of a French expatriate and an auto driver to Shivajinagar, starring ‘Danish Sait’, ‘Disha Madan’ and ‘Sindhu Srinivasamurthy’. It is releasing on July 24th.
The Old guard (Netflix) –is a gritty adventurous ride involving mysterious powers, warriors and immortals starring ‘Charlize Theron’, ‘Kiki Layne’ and ‘Marwan Kenzari’. It is releasing on July 10th.
Cloud atlas (Netflix) – is a science fiction drama with six individuals who share emotions through a journey together in this changing world. It stars ‘Tom Hanks’, ‘Halle Berry’ and ‘Jim Sturgess’. It will be available on July 1st.
Damsel (Netflix) – it is a cynical western involving a horse, preacher and a pioneer on a journey. It stars ‘Robert Pattinson’ and ‘Mia Wasikowska’. It will be available on July 22nd.
The Kissing Booth 2 (Netflix) – follows up to ‘The Kissing Booth’; while Noah is off to Harvard and Elle back in senior year, they try to juggle their long distance relationship. It stars ‘Joey King’, ‘Jacob Elordi’ and ‘Molly Ringwald’. It will be released on July 24th.
