Victory Venkatesh’s Narappa has skipped its theatrical release and arrived directly on Amazon Prime Video. The movie has got an overwhelming response from the audience and people are lauding Venkatesh’s performance big time. It is rare to see a remake get so much applause. Meanwhile, Venkatesh’s other film, Drushyam 2 is also taking the same route.
Disney+ Hotstar has bagged the digital rights of the film. Venkatesh is going on a holiday to Europe in a few days. He has put the shooting of his portions in F3 on hold. After coming back, he will have to finish the dubbing of Drushyam 2. He will return to Hyderabad in September and then finish the work. Buzz is that Drushyam 2 will release on September 9th or 10th as Vinayaka Chaviti Special. The official announcement of the movie will happen in August.
Drushyam 2 is the first Tollywood star film for Disney+ Hotstar. Drushyam 2 is made on a shoestring budget and has been shot in just one month or so. It is the remake of Malayali Blockbuster, Drishyam 2 starring Mohanlal which also skipped its theatrical release and has streamed on Amazon Prime Video. In a rare instance, the Original and the remake are Direct-to-OTT releases.
