The official Hindi remake of Chatrapathi will hit the theaters on the 12th of May. The movie will introduce Sreenivas Bellamkonda in the Hindi film industry. Sreenivas is well known for acting in Telugu films like Saakshyam, Alludu Adhurs, Kavacham, Sita etc. The movie is directed by V.V. Vinayak who has previously directed films like Khaidi No. 150 and Akhil.
The original Telugu movie was a huge success. It starred Prabhaas in the lead role and was directed by S.S Rajamouli himself. The story was written by Vijayendra Prasad. The film came out in 2005 and tells the story of Shivaji whose family is uprooted from Sri Lanka and who becomes the messiah of displaced laborers in the Vizag port. He is named after the legendary figure of Chatrapathi Shivaji and lives up to the name. He is finally reunited with his lost mother and family. The film was very famous and was appreciated by audiences.
The film is produced by Jayantilal Gada under the banner of Pen Studios. K.V Vijayendra Prasad has written the screenplay of the remake as well and Mayur Purihas written the Hindi dialogues of the film. The cast includes other actors like Sahil Vaid, Amit Nair, Rajendra Gupta, Shivam Patil, Swapnil, Ashish Singh and Mohammed Monajir. Tanishq Bagchi has composed the music for the film. There were talks on remaking the movie in Hindi for a long time. Finally the film is releasing on the 12th of May. There is a very strong hype around the movie and hopefully it will do a good business at the box office.
